At St. Michael's School we recognise the importance that sport plays as part of a healthy lifestyle and we endeavor to promote life long participation thorough providing our pupils with the opportunity to develop their skills and interest in a range of sports.  We encourage, teamwork, fair play, competitiveness and enjoyment and give each of our pupils the opportunity to participate in a P.E program suitable for their age and ability.

We have a heated indoor Sports Hall that is used for gymnastics, basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball, dance and hockey.  We also have an outdoor basketball court and an astro turf pitch which is used for a variety of sports activities.

Our school is a member of the Irish Special Schools Sports Council and our pupils participate in national soccer, basketball, athletics and cross country events throughout the year.  We also use local swimming facilities to provide our pupils with the opportunity to take swimming lessons and we send our swimming team to compete in the annual ISSSC sponsored swimming gala each year.
