St. Michael’s Special School caters for pupils with a broad range of strengths and needs. As part of our response to meeting the needs and responding to the strengths of our pupils we provide a school leavers programme focused on preparing our pupils for the next stage in their educational journey.

 

As part of this programme we offer QQI Certification at Level 3 on the National Framework. Where pupils demonstrate the appropriate prerequisite skills/knowledge, interest in, and willingness to engage they are offered the subjects listed below which lead to minor awards:

Upon completion some pupils may enrol in colleges of the National Learning Network where they may continue to pursue certification on the Access programme at  Level 3 QQI or a range of programmes at level 4 as appropriate.
